When looking at electric vehicles there are two main questions that we know drivers have – how far can it go and how long does it take to charge? Today we’re going to take a look at the ten electric vehicles with the longest range that are currently available for you to purchase or lease today.

The ranges mentioned in the post below are the WLTP ranges advertised by the manufacturer but there are a number of conditions that might reduce these ranges sightly. For more information on what impacts the range of your electric vehicle take a look at this article.

Charging an Electric Vehicle

Before we explore the top 10, we just want to touch on charging. You can find an in-depth article on everything you need to know about charging here but we wanted to give you a few pointers here.

There are three speeds of charging; slow, fast and rapid which includes ultra-rapid chargers, that are available on the public charging network and you can also get a home charger unit installed in any of these speeds depending on the capacity available on the existing infrastructure and the price you want to spend on a unit. How long your vehicle will take to charge depends on the speed of the charger as well as your vehicle’s receiving capacity.

Tesla have their own Supercharger network that allows you to charge your vehicle using either a rapid or ultra-rapid charger for the quickest possible charging times.
