Can’t find what
your looking for

When looking at electric vehicles there are two main questions that we know drivers have – how far can it go and how long does it take to charge? Today we’re going to take a look at the ten electric vehicles with the longest range that are currently available for you to purchase or lease today.

The ranges mentioned in the post below are the WLTP ranges advertised by the manufacturer but there are a number of conditions that might reduce these ranges sightly. For more information on what impacts the range of your electric vehicle take a look at this article.

Charging an Electric Vehicle

Before we explore the top 10, we just want to touch on charging. You can find an in-depth article on everything you need to know about charging here but we wanted to give you a few pointers here.

There are three speeds of charging; slow, fast and rapid which includes ultra-rapid chargers, that are available on the public charging network and you can also get a home charger unit installed in any of these speeds depending on the capacity available on the existing infrastructure and the price you want to spend on a unit. How long your vehicle will take to charge depends on the speed of the charger as well as your vehicle’s receiving capacity.

Tesla have their own Supercharger network that allows you to charge your vehicle using either a rapid or ultra-rapid charger for the quickest possible charging times.

Top 10 Electric Vehicles with the Longest Range

Now that we've looked at some of the key points about charging an electric vehicle let's get into the 10 electric vehicles with the longest mileage ranges available for you to buy or lease today.

1. Tesla Model S Long Range

Mileage range = 390 – 412

The Tesla Model S Long Range version offers you the largest mileage range available with Tesla’s official to be confirmed estimates offering 390 to 412 miles on a single charge.

The Model S has set the standard for luxury electric saloons since it was first introduced in 2012, has the best range on the market, space for five adults to fit comfortably and is full of high-tech features, like a front a rear touchscreen infotainment centre, Bluetooth connectivity for multiple devices and wireless and USB-C charging points for all passengers.

There’s also performance version of the Model S but this has a smaller range as it needs more power when driving, but it offers you faster speeds and quicker acceleration.

2. Tesla Model 3 Long Range

Mileage range = 360

The Tesla Model 3 is the smallest of Tesla's current range but it still offers you a spacious high-tech interior, sleek saloon exterior and one of the longest mileage ranges available on the market.

According to Tesla, it has a WLTP tested range of 360 miles and uses dual motors to power the all-wheel-drive so it can adapt to changing road conditions as rapidly as possible and maintain stability on the road.

This model was designed to be the entry model Tesla but that doesn’t mean it’s any less impressive. Like other Teslas, everything is controlled and all key information is displayed on the touchscreen in the centre of the console. This 15-inch screen not only lets you manage everything from one location but gives the added bonus of a modern and uncluttered dashboard with minimal distractions.

There is also a performance version of the Model 3 but again the range on this is slightly lower than the Long Range model.

On the interior there’s a large touchscreen in the centre of the console which controls everything in the car from your infotainment system to driving settings. There’s also a second screen for rear passengers to use the media and gaming systems, which sits on the back of the armrest between the front seats.

Mileage range = 301

With the electric Taycan there’s no doubt that Porsche have managed to maintain the performance they are known for but in a new electrifying way. The sports saloon has great handling and agility with fast acceleration going from 0 to 62 mph in under six seconds and with a top speed of 143 mph.
