Are you thinking about leasing a vehicle or in the process of receiving your car but are concerned about what the local lockdowns and Welsh and Scottish restrictions will mean for you? Well, don’t worry we’re here to help explain what impact they will have and how we’re working to reduce this.
Wales:
Today, at 6pm Wales’ firebreak lockdown will come into force across the entire country.
The firebreak will last for 17 days until the 9th of November and there are five main restrictions, which include staying at home except for a limited few purposes and not meeting people you do not live with.
If you live in Wales and are looking to lease a vehicle then we can still arrange this for you and if you are already in the process of leasing a vehicle through us then there will be no impact for you. The BVRLA have received clarification which confirms that logistics companies can still deliver and collect lease vehicles in Wales.
As you might be aware the DVLA is based in Swansea. They have confirmed that they will remain open during the Welsh lockdown, with their Swansea based office open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 4pm for any requests that you can’t complete using their online services should you need to make any changes to your licence.
Local Lockdowns:
Here at Xcite Car Leasing, we work with dealers across the UK to find in stock cars at great leasing rates for you. We currently do not have any dealers in affected areas, so there is no impact at the minute if you are looking to, or in the process of, leasing a new vehicle through us. If there is any change to this we will let you know.
If you live in a tier-three area and are in the process of leasing through us, we will let you know if there are any restrictions on delivering your vehicle. So far we have not seen any dealer cancelling or rescheduling deliveries to customers in these areas but this may change.
Please be aware that our dealers are working hard to ensure delivery handovers are as contactless as possible even in lower-risk areas.
Collections:
We have contacted all of our funders to see what they are doing about collections and will update this post as they come back to us.
So far, we have not seen any collections rescheduled due to lockdowns yet.
ALD have confirmed they are still collecting vehicle and are adhering to all government restrictions and protocol at collection.
Alphabet have advised they are still collecting vehicles from customers in tier 3 areas but that there may be some restrictions or delays. They will advise you as soon as possible if there is any effect on your collection.
Arval have advised that they are currently still collecting from tier three areas and Wales. They have warned that this may change as the situation develops though.
LeasePlan have also confirmed they are currently collecting in tier three areas and Wales, and will let us know if there are any changes.
Lex have advised that booked collections are still going ahead at the minute. However, collections from customers in Wales will be completed by Welsh agents.
Symptoms:
Please note that if you or anyone else in your household has any symptoms of Covid-19, or have been in contact with someone who tested positive, and have to isolate you should not accept delivery or collection of your vehicle. Please contact us as soon as possible if this applies to you and we can help you reschedule any booking.
