The new year traditionally marks the start of new exercise regimes, diets and self-improvement programmes, as well as heralding the beginning of a new season across various industries. But what we’re most excited about are the new cars we’ll get to see, and hopefully drive, that are coming out this year.

We’ve rounded up our top ten picks of cars coming out in 2021 for you to take a look at below.

1. Tesla Model Y

Expected towards the end of this year the Model Y is an SUV version of the Model 3, with space for up to seven adults to fit comfortably and a range of around 300 miles depending on which spec you opt for. The Model Y will also come with Tesla’s all-wheel drive, which uses two ultra-responsive independent electric motors to give you better handling, traction and stability control. This means you can drive in rain, snow, mud and even off-road safely.

Like all Teslas, we can expect to see a clear dash, with minimal buttons and a touchscreen infotainment control centre.

The Tesla Model Y will be a great choice if you’re looking for a high-tech electric SUV that offers you great safety and security over a long distance.

2. Dacia Sandero

The Dacia Sandero is a car known to be cheap and great value for money and previous models have won several awards including the 202 What Car?’s Value Car for Less than £10,000, and the updated version will be no different.

The five-door, five-seat supermini hatchback offers you a modern looking interior, with the latest tech for connectivity and safety. The new model has a slightly wider stance and new LED headlights and y-shaped running lights which give the Sandero more modern exterior styling.

Expected to be available to drive on UK roads in February, you can pre-order the new Dacia Sandero for purchase or lease today. If you want to discuss leasing the Sandero then give us a call on 0330 221 0000.

3. Toyota Highlander

This will be the first Highlander model to be available for UK drivers, although it is the fourth edition of the Highlander that Toyota have released.

Considerable work has been completed by Toyota over the past year to make a right-hand drive version of the Highland to ensure it is safe for UK roads.

The Highlander sits towards the larger end of Toyota’s SUV range, sitting above the RAV4,  and comes with seven seats so there’s room to fit the entire family.

It will only be available as a hybrid with electric motors on both the front and rear axels which help to offer you Toyota’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system.

Toyota have said it will be available in two trim levels, the Excel and Excel Premium. The Excel includes 20-inch alloys, leather seat upholstery, and a panoramic roof as standard. The Premium Excel adds a heads-up display, power tailgate, heated rear seats and 360-degree camera.

The Highlander isn’t expected to arrive in the UK until March but should be available to pre-order shortly.

4. Audi Q4 e-tron

The Q4 e-tron will be Audi’s fourth electric vehicle and part of their commitment to providing 12 new fully electric vehicles by 2025.

With a motor mounted on each axle to give you four-wheel drive, a range of around 280 miles and quick 0-62 time there’s a lot that the Q4 e-tron has to offer.

Without the large combustion engine there’s a roomier interior, giving the driver and passengers a little more space. The infotainment touchscreen has been angled towards the driver to make it easier and safer to use and there’s a large head-up display that projects key information onto the windscreen.

Along with the Q4 e-tron Audi have announced plans for the Q4 Sportback e-tron which is expected to rival the Tesla Model Y and Skoda Enyag when they all arrive on the market.

The Q4 e-tron is expected to be available by Autumn of 2021 and we’ll keep you updated as we get further news on its release.

5. Range Rover

The latest Range Rover is due to hit UK roads later this year.

Although Land Rover have managed to keep a lot of the details under wraps, literally in the case of test drives, there are a few details we’ve heard so far.

The new model is expected to retain the tall boxy shape that the Range Rover is known for, as well as the large front grille and split tailgate. Although there will be some small changes to the exterior the main changes we’re expecting are underneath with new powertrains, that are all expected to include at least mild-hybrid technology.

The 2021 Range Rover will be available as a plug-in hybrid with a V8 engine. There will also be a fully electric version released later, which will be Land Rovers first fully electric vehicle.  This fully electric model is expected to have a range of around 300 miles and like the Jaguar XJ which is also due to land this year as well, it will be powered by two electric motors to provide four-wheel-drive.

Although these aren’t all available to lease or purchase just yet if you want to discuss the options that are currently available then you can give us a call on 0330 221 0000.

This isn’t a complete list of all new cars expected to land this year, just the ones we’re most excited by so if there’s one you thought should have been included then let us know in the comments below.
